Chevy Chase Lake includes three unique buildings. B1: an 11-story high-rise with 183 units, lower level commercial elements including a two-story arcade, a raised connection platform for the future Purple Line train, rooftop amenities and two levels of underground parking. B2: condominiums with at-grade retail beneath six stories of dwelling units and rooftop amenities. B3: figure eight-shaped, mixed-use podium apartments with 283 units in five stories over a level of commercial space and two central courtyards, one of which has a pool. This building sits atop three levels of underground parking.
Foundations include conventional spread footings and slabs on grade. B2 also requires soil improvement. B1 and B2 (mid-high rise) are post-tensioned, cast in place concrete design with curtain walls, storefront exteriors, and cold-formed steel infill between the structural slabs. B3 is designed with five stories of prefabricated, Type 3A wood-framed roof and floor trusses over a concrete cast-in-place podium with concrete walls, columns, and slabs for the at-grade level and underground parking.
